Land Between the Lakes, KY: Farewell to Hurricane Creek Campground

A person could literally spend all their life camping and exploring these two lakes and the surrounds and never see it all! What an amazing display of God's glory and the beauty of creation!

Camping observations in Kentucky

One thing we noticed right away is that everyone towed doubled -- trailer/RV and a trailer, which we thought was for ATV's, or in some cases were clearly boat trailers. Well, it turns out that bringing your golf cart is a big thing here. It seems that walking is out of fashion and people ride around in their golf carts all the time, especially the teenagers!

Another thing we noticed, people are very patriotic. Almost everyone was flying the American flag. Many people had these lighted versions.

We saw a guy who brought his leaf blower camping with him. He was blowing the leaves from around his trailer. When I stopped to chat, he said his mom uses the leaf blower to light her camp fires! Wow!

Overall it has been really fun and people are very nice. We will miss this lovely little spot of heaven!

A perfect shot
